COURSE AT THE ANCIENT VILLAGE OF NARNI: DESIGN AND CREATION OF A DECORATIVE FLOORING WITH PEBBLES - 3 DAYS COURSE + SET OF TOOLS INCLUDED
Immerse yourself in ancient art with a pebble mosaic course that will take you through the secrets of creating a pebble pavement according to tradition.
Objectives : The course offers a unique experience to explore the art and tradition of ancient mosaic, transforming knowledge and passion into tangible works of art. An unmissable opportunity to experience history through your hands and to leave a lasting impression on the cultural landscape of Narni. The course allows you to discover and learn the age-old techniques of mosaic, transforming simple stones into works of art.
Location : historic center of the medieval Umbrian village Narni.
Highlights and teachers : During the course, participants will have the opportunity to explore the history and theory of ancient mosaic, guided by industry expert Luca Riggio and teacher Tiziana Mondini.
Practical and theoretical course: The course consists of a small theoretical part and a large practical part in the open air. A real construction site will be built where the group will work on the creation of a decorative cobblestone flooring.
Program details
FIRST DAY: The first day is dedicated to the introduction to the cobblestone technique, with an in-depth analysis of the laying methods. Participants will have the opportunity to choose the material directly from the quarry as well as learn the techniques for preparing the base for laying the pebbles. Through practical demonstrations and guided exercises, each participant will have the opportunity to experience the different phases of the creative process.
SECOND DAY: The second day is the time to put the knowledge acquired into practice, working together to create a real cobblestone pavement. Guided by expert instructors, participants will have the opportunity to create an authentic mosaic, inspired by the motifs and designs of antiquity. Each pebble placed becomes a piece of a collective work, while the beauty and mastery of the mosaic come to life before their eyes.
THIRD DAY: The third day is dedicated to finishing and celebrating the work accomplished. The cobblestone paving is ready to be admired and appreciated as a whole. A closing ceremony will bring together the participants with the presentation of certificates.

В прошлые выходные я приняла участие в курсе мозаики из гальки с Тицианой Мондини и Лукой Риджио. Это был действительно фантастический курс! Сначала мы пошли в настоящий карьер собирать гальку для мозаики. Потом мы отправились к месту установки мозаики в частном саду, где нам нужно было сделать из гальки небольшую садовую дорожку. Там мы многому научились: нам рассказали немного о том как были сделаны самые древние мозаики из гальки в Турции и Греции, объяснили и показали как замешивать цемент для укладки гальки, как правильно класть гальку, как крепить ее на дорожке, и т. д. И самое интересное было то что у нас была возможность тут же попробовать делать всё это своими руками! Преподаватели были очень профессиональны и чрезвычайно дружелюбны, и они дали нам много полезных советов. Помимо изготовления садовой дорожки из гальки, в конце курса у нас также была возможность сделать небольшую мозаику из гальки просто для украшения... Кроме того, кажлый день наши преподаватели организовали для нас невероятный домашний обед, приготовленный коренной итальянкой. В общем и целом, это отличный практический курс, на котором всего за 3 дня можно узнать много всего интересного и полезного + удивительное итальянское гостеприимство. Я очень рекомендую этот курс🤩🤩🤩.
